Laos and South Korea Forge New Path in Innovation and Trade Collaboration

On November 19, 2024, at the Jeonju Innovation Center in South Korea,

Mr. Sokxay Somjainuek, Chairman of Sokxay Group, accompanied by the management team, and Mr. Lee Dongwon, CEO of ActiBooky, signed a Memorandum of Understanding (MOU) to collaborate and promote innovations in agriculture, food technology, logistics, and technology between Laos and South Korea.

The signing ceremony was attended by Mr. Bountheng Douangsavanh, Deputy Minister of Industry and Commerce of Laos, and representatives from South Korea, including the Jeonbuk Creative Economy Innovation Center and Mr. Kim Min-soo, CEO of The Momma Group, along with executives from Eduwill and CSpace.

Prior to the signing of the MOU, Sokxay Group visited key offices, including the Jeonbuk Provincial Office, the Department of Rural Development, the Department of Modern Transportation, and the National Jeonbuk University, to explore opportunities for collaboration and development.

In December 2024, Mr. Lee Dongwon, CEO of ActiBooky, and Mr. Kim Min-soo, CEO of The Momma Group, along with their teams, plan to visit Laos to further strengthen cooperation and develop clear project plans.

This MOU aims to develop and enhance cooperation in the fields of agriculture, food technology, and logistics between Laos and South Korea. The focus will be on digital transformation, education, and expanding the market for K-Beauty products in Laos, along with business opportunities in HOTELNJOY, C-Space, and Eduwill.

Additionally, plans are in place to promote training and workforce development while creating new business opportunities. This collaboration is expected to be a significant milestone in building strong economic ties between the two countries and fostering sustainable industrial growth in Laos.

Chairman Sokxay Somjainuek emphasized the importance of this partnership, noting that it represents a significant step forward in advancing Laos’ modern industries through the adoption of advanced technology.
